This book is different from any other "training" book that I have read before. In Cesar's Way, much like his show, there is no step by step instructions on how to train your dog to sit, stay, lay down, etc. Instead he teaches dog psychology and how to communicate with your dog in a way that your dog will understand. Like his show he emphasizes exercise, discipline and then affection, in that order. There is a section on Cesar's biography describing how he came to America and rose to fame. The background information lays the groundwork for Cesar's philosophy on communicating with dogs. This is a book that every dog owner should read. Cesar's method is very effective; I have used many of Cesar's methods to train my 9 month old Black Lab and I frequently get comments on how well behaved he is.
