Located in Batavia, NY, halfway between the cities of Buffalo and Rochester, Present Tense is a locally-owned independent bookstore that features an intimate, vintage atmosphere and serves as a center for reading, writing, and the arts in Western New York. Since we opened our doors on August 20, 2005, Present Tense has offered fun events, a unique shopping experience, and outstanding customer service. We feature a general selection of new books, and have an eclectic section of used books, Past Tense, that allows us to meet the needs of every interest and budget.
We are proud to be an independent bookstore that can provide thoughtful and insightful advice to our customers. And we are proud to be a part of the local economy because we understand that by keeping revenue in the region, we are helping to create a strong and vibrant community.
